Common names: Apple Blossom Beetle [En], Cétoine hérissée, Cétoine velue [Fr], Zottiger Rosenkäfer [De], Escarabajo peludo [Es], Bakla zınnı [Tu]

Kalloni, LESVOS ● Greece

Description: Body length 8-13 mm, grey black in colour covered with long yellow white hairs. Elytra have horizontal white or yellow spots. Pronotum is without spots, and has a defined longitudinal ridge.

Biology: This beetle can be seen from April to September. The adults feed from various flowers. Larvae feed from dead wood.
Host Plants: apple, pear quince, plum, canola, rye, wheat, Taxacum officinale, Tussilago farfara. Secondary: wheat, barley, lupins, blackcurrant, tulip, narcissus, broomrape

Distribution: Palaearctic region
