Description: The Megalodontesidae is a small family of sawflies within the Symphyta, containing about 40 species in one genus (Megalodontes) and restricted to the temperate regions of Eurasia. They are distinguished from the closely related Pamphiliidae by their serrate or pectinate antennae.

Biology: The larvae feed on herbaceous plants.

Distribution: Eastern coast area of the Adriatic Sea, down to western and central continental Greece.
