Common names: Γλαδίολος ο τρίφυλλος, Γλαδιόλα [Gr], Buğday Çiçeği [Tu]

Yeşilırmak (Limnitis, Λιμνίτης), GÜZELYÜRT (MORPHOU, ΜΟΡΦΟΥ) ● Cyprus

Description: Uncommon bulbous plant, much smaller, about half the height or less, than its relative, Gladiolous italicus (Field Gladiolus). The flowers are also much paler. The 3 abaxial segments have pale stripes. The anthers are shorter than the filaments.

Biology: It flowers late March-April.

Habitat: Rocky places, garrigue, pine forest, up to 1200 m.

Distribution: Long time considered as a Cyprus endemic, this plant has recently been found wild in Lebanon.
