Description: This Ophrys is recognized by the thin and elongated lip, with length 10-14mm and the characteristic short side lobes, shorter than 4mm. Due to the shortness of the side lobes, this species was erroneously reported, in older times, as Ophrys bremifera or as Ophrys scolopax (west Mediterranean species).

Biology: Late flowering, in April-May.

Habitat: Calcareous soils, garrigue, meadows, shrubs. Up to 700 m.

Distribution: Aegean species, Cyclades islands and Kythira island.
